The Foundation\
1. Rev. T.R. Penry III is the primary author of Reformation Think along with other Influencers, Podcasters and Bloggers from the Persona of 'Martin Marprelate.'
2. 'Reformation Think' is patterned after the purpose and intent of the Marprelate Tracts, distributed in England and Wales by John Penry (a possible co-author) in 1588 and 1589. I (T.R.) believe that the Tract's authors were a collaboration of individuals with varying degrees of participation and consent: Sir Michael Hicks, Roger Williams, Henry Barrow, George Carleton, Patrick Collinson, Job Throckmorton, and John Penry. Most Scholars who have studied the Marprelate controversy agree that Job Throckmorton was most likely the primary author with assistance from John Penry, a possible co-author, printer, editor, and marketer of the Marprelate Tracts. Though authorship cannot be established, at the very least, each of those mentioned afore would agree with its intent and content.
3. 'Martin Marprelate' was a pseudonym used by a "Puritan Writer" who waged a Theological 'War of Pamphlets' against the established Anglican Church Leadership. For our purposes, no Church or Denomination is targeted. The "Voice" of 'Martin Marprelate' is in antithesis to Postmodernism, in general, and the Progressive individual, in particular within and without the Church.
4. I (T.R.) believe Martin Marprelate' is a morally constructed pseudonym. Martin - referring to Martin Luther, who is responsible for 'fanning the flame' of the Reformation. Marprelate refers to the 'Prelates,' that is, Anglican Bishops, who were the Ecclesiastical Dignitaries of the Church of England. 'Mar' serves as a prefix - Marred, meaning 'disfigured' or impairing appearance. Thus, the Puritan writer was setting the Martin Marprelate Tracts in juxtaposition.
5. The Marprelate Tracts are highly critical towards each Anglican Dignitaries of the time. However, 'Reformation Think' has taken the Intent and Content of the Marprelate Tracts and directed it towards the Church Universal and not one particular Denomination or Individual. 'Reformation Think' refuses to take on an invective posture within its content. As directed by Scripture, we are to Speak the Truth in Love as brought out in Ephesians 4:1-16 and act upon a Wisdom that is outside ourselves, knowing that it "is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere (James 3:17). See also James 3:13-18 and 1 Timothy 2:1-15.
6. Having said this, we must also recognize that speaking the truth in love will affect conviction. This conviction then stirs up many emotions that can quickly turn to anger. Reformation Think is designed to be 'hard-hitting' regarding Biblical Truth but Respectful regarding the Human condition. For the sake of 'Truth,' as God dictates in His Word, we freely and willingly engage to struggle together so that the Truth of the Gospel prevails in our lives.

The Focus
1. We at 'Reformation Think' pray that this site will encourage and challenge you in your thinking, life, and commitment to Jesus Christ (Proverbs 16:3 and Jeremiah 29:10-14). We also have a passion for adding value to the lives of all. We count it a privilege to minister through these blogs/vlogs.
2. In saying all this, we at 'Reformation Think' understand that without an intentional study of the Scriptures (2 Timothy 2:15), everything that we espouse would be for nothing. Therefore, we encourage everyone to Read and Study the Bible. Remembering that the Word of God gives us a glimpse of the mind and character of God. Scripture itself is more important than anything we offer (Hebrews 4:12). Submit yourself to the Leadership of a Christ-centered Bible Practicing Church. Encourage yourself and others by committing to a Fellowship of other Christ-centered believers (Hebrews 10:24-25).

May your journey through life be Christ-centered with Clarity and Intentionality; and may you be a Blessing to someone today!
